Recipe : Crispy Fried Sandwich

  • Preparation time : 10 minutes 
  • Cooking time : 15 minutes 
  • Total servings : 4 pax 


Ingredients: 


Sandwich bread - 8 slices 

Butter - 1 tablespoon 

Cheddar cheese - 4 slices 

Breadcrumbs - 2 cups 

Cooking oil for frying - ½ liter 


For Tuna fillings: 

Tuna in can (drain away the water or oil) - 2 cans (small)

Red onion (chopped) - ½ Bud 

Mayonnaise - 3 tablespoons

Salt & Pepper - to taste 


For Egg fillings: 

Hard Boiled egg (chopped) - 2pcs 

Red onion (chopped) - ½ bud

Mayonnaise - 3 tablespoons 

Salt & Pepper - to taste


For the batter: 

Self raising flour - ½ cup 

All purpose flour (or the ready packed Kentucky fried chicken powder) - ½ cup 

Water - 2 or 2 ½ cups (estimation) 



Methods: 

 

  1. First prepare the fillings, namely the tuna fillings and egg fillings along with the ingredients in separate bowls. 
  2. Arrange a slice of bread and spread with a little butter. Place the filling on top followed by the cheese and then cover with another slice of bread. Repeat the process until all the bread and filling are done. Cut the sandwich in half.
  3. After that, prepare the batter by mixing the Self Raising flour and Kentucky fried flour in a medium large container. Mix well. 
  4. Pour the water little by little while stirring until you get a perfect dough (not too thick and not too runny)
  5. Heat the oil. Dip and mix the sandwich into the flour dip and knead with breadcrumbs (make sure to mix all parts evenly)
  6. Fry in medium heat oil until golden yellow. Lift, drain the oil and place on kitchen tissue paper.
  7. Can be served with fresh salad if you like. Ready to serve.
